FHIIT is Functional High Intensity Interval Training. Functional training is a style of training that mimics activities of daily living and allows for multijoint, multiplanar movements. Functional training equipment includes things like barbells, dumbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, heavy ropes, sandbags, and even your own bodyweight. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is essentially defined as short bursts of activity at 90% VO2max (the maximal volume of oxygen utilized by your muscles) with even shorter periods of low intensity exercise or rest.
